Pollinator Produce Partners (Joe and Becca)
We're a young couple growing on a beautiful century farm in Duffield Virginia. We are committed to celebrating the natural ecosystems of this region, and to that end we work to build soil, insect diversity, and a native seed-bed. We never use any synthetic pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, or fertilizers, and are committed to growing all open-pollinated varieties - no GMOs or hybrids! We grow a wide diversity of produce and tree crops, along with raising our chickens, growing our on-site botanical gardens, and cooking, canning, and baking our excess all season long. We sell at markets and also through our CSA, where our members can reserve special produce boxes for the whole growing season.
Weitzman, a baker and English Literature professor at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, brings an impressive array of homemade goods to the market each week. Jalapeno popper bread, banana bread, sour dough bread, monkey bread, chocolate babka, and an array of scones and pretzels regularly greet customers.
Weitzman began selling at Norton’s market several years ago, though baking has been a lifelong love.
