    Hike from Norton's Upper Reservoir on the Flag Rock Area Trails system to the High Knob Observation Tower and return. Distance: 5-6 miles. Difficulty: Moderate. Hike is limited to 10 people.   2. Christmas Tree Lighting

    December 7, 2019, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Veterans Park in downtown Norton

    Join the City of Norton for its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Veterans Park. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Other festivities will include a movie, Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, at 7 p.m. sponsored by Park Avenue Theatre; Music by Freddie Bradley; Performance by Norton Elementary and Middle School Choir; Ugly Sweater Contest (Contest begins at 5:30 p.m. Adult & Child Divisions. Prizes); Puppet Show; Children's Crafts and Games; and Concessions. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their camera for photos with Santa and other Christmas characters. A Sip & Paint event will also be held at HairVolution. This event is limited to 20 people. Register by calling (276) 639-0530. The tree lighting is sponsored by the City of Norton and United HealthCare.

    Annual Christmas parade held in downtown Norton. This year's theme will be the Twelve Days of Christmas.
