The September workshop will feature painting fall or Halloween patterns on various sizes of wood scraps, including a pumpkin design edged with rope, and a jack-o-lantern face. Another craft features steel cans painted to resemble pumpkins. Trash Treasures Workshops are coordinated by the Norton Parks and Recreation Department alongside the Upper Tennessee River Roundtable and Keep Southwest Virginia Beautiful, with support from Tennessee Valley Authority. The workshop shows participants how to reuse a variety of materials rather than discarding them. Advanced registration is recommended to ensure planners have enough materials for everyone.
