Your Options

For your convenience, there are several methods available to make payments to the treasurer's office. If you have questions concerning local taxes, due dates, or payments please call (276) 679-7246 for additional information.

 Note: To ensure that credit is given to the proper account, please enclose the return portion of each ticket.

Pay in Person

You may pay in person at our office. We are located at:

Payments by check or money order can be dropped off in the 24-hour drop box located at City Hall.

Pay by Mail

Bills can be paid by check or money order, payable to the order of City of Norton and mailed to:

Pay Online

Credit card payment and electronic payments: To pay personal property taxes, real estate taxes, utility bills, permit fees or other miscellaneous fees, please visit paya.com/paygov

Credit cards accepted for bill payments include MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Visa. There is a 2.5 percent (no minimum) convenience fee per transaction to use this service. You can also pay by electronic check. Payments will be deducted from your checking account at your bank. You will need your 9-digit routing number and your account number from your check. A flat fee of $1.50 per transaction will be charged by the processing company to use the electronic check option.

Pay By Phone

To pay a utility bill by phone using your MasterCard, Discover, American Express or Visa, please call 1-877-876-1059. There is a 2.5 percent (no minimum) convenience fee to use this service. Operators are available Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Please have your account number and amount to pay readily available.

Automatic Payment Plan 

The City of Norton Utility Billing Automatic Payment Plan is a free service that allows the city to automatically deduct your utility payments directly from your checking or savings account. Please fill out this form and return to Norton City Hall, 618 Virginia Avenue NW. A blank check or savings account deposit slip with the word "VOID" written on it will also be needed to complete the registration process. Payments will be debited from designated accounts on the 15th of each month. If the 15th is not a business day, accounts will be debited the next business day.
