MOUNTAIN FORK HALF MARATHON: SUNDAY, SEPT. 17, 2023

The Mountain Fork Half Marathon is a 13.6-mile race that starts and finishes at the High Knob Observation Tower in Wise County. The race loops through the scenic Mountain Fork watershed, primarily on Forest Service roads, before finishing at the tower. All race proceeds benefit ongoing trail development and maintenance on the Flag Rock Area Trails system in the City of Norton's Flag Rock Recreation Area and on High Knob.

The fourth annual race will be held Sunday, Sept. 17. This race is also part of the 2023 High Knob Triple Crown running series. See High Knob Triple Crown website for details.

HIGH KNOB HELLBENDER 10K: SATURDAY, OCT. 7, 2023

Climb to the highest point in the Cumberland Mountains. This challenging 6.2-mile road race boasts more than a 2,000-foot elevation gain as it climbs from downtown Norton in far Southwest Virginia to the 4,200-foot High Knob summit in the Jefferson National Forest. The 10th annual climb will be held October 7, 2023. This race is also part of the 2023 High Knob Triple Crown running series. See the High Knob Triple Crown website for details.

CLOUDSPLITTER 100 ULTRAMARATHON: October 2023

The Cloudsplitter 100 is an ultramarathon held on High Knob that challenges runners to navigate a variety of trails and graveled roads on High Knob with 25-kilometer, 50-kilometer, 100-kilometer, and 100-mile distances.
