Details: Submit your best bird photos for the Get Outside in Norton Bird Photo Contest! Contest starts Jan. 25 and ends at 5 p.m. on Feb. 15. Contestants can submit one photo for consideration. Winners will be announced during the Wonderful World of Birding Coffee Talk event on Saturday, Feb. 18. Results will also be posted to the city's social media accounts and website. First Place will receive binoculars and a birding guide. Second Place: Bird Feeder. Third Place: Lincoln Road Coffee Lounge gift card.

Contest Rules: All photo submissions must be the original work of the person submitting the photo. Photos must also be taken in the High Knob Region (City of Norton and Wise, Scott, and Lee counties). You must own the rights to the photo. Photos that a third party can control or own will not be accepted. Photo submissions also cannot infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person. By submitting photos for this contest, you also agree to allow the City of Norton to use your photo for advertising and marketing purposes. 

Submission Guidelines: Photo submissions should be emailed to Katie Dunn, katied@nortonva.org. Photos can also be dropped off at Norton City Hall, 618 Virginia Ave. NW, during business hours (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday). All submissions must include the following information: Name; Residence (County/Town/City); Phone Number; Email Address; Location where photo was taken; and the bird species pictured (if known).
